NEW DEADLINE ANNOUNCED
From all the team here at the Visual Art Open, we would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. As a special new year's treat, we also wanted to inform you that the deadline for submissions has been extended to the 28th February 2017.
Due to the high volume of applications the competition received, it was decided to extend the deadline to allow more artists to apply for this exciting new competition - don't worry, all other dates remain the same.

The VAO is a great opportunity to further your career in the arts and develop your passion. There are lots of exciting prizes on offer and include:
The five shortlisted entries from each category will be put online for the People's Choice Award and be shown in the final exhibition at Chester Arts Fair 2017
The overall winner of the VAO will be awarded: A Cash prize of £1,000.00 to support the production of new works Commercial mentoring package Exclusive solo show. (The location of the solo show will be decided in consultation with the winning artist) Exhibition at Chester Arts Fair 2017 worth £1,000 £250.00 will be awarded for each winning category
The winners will be announced at CAF17 from 17-19 November 2017

31 May 2017 - Shortlist of five entries per category posted online for People's Choice Award
November 2017 - Exhibition of all 25 shortlisted works from the VAO at Chester Arts Fair 2017, winners announced
November 2018 - Overall Winner Exhibition at Chester Arts Fair 2018
