Indie Mae – Young Artist & People’s Choice Winner 2017!

Indie Mae from Falmouth, Cornwall is 2017’s ‘Young Artists’ category winner for the Visual Art Open Awards. Her oil on canvas artwork, ‘Theo’, wowed the judges and visitors to the Chester Arts Fair. As the young artist category winner Indie was awarded £250.00 to be used towards creating more artwork.

On top of her category win, Indie Mae also won the ‘People’s Choice Award 2017’. The VAO invited the public to vote online and during a preview event for their favourite artwork among the 30 finalist pieces. Although the other competition entries were strong contenders, Indies piece was a firm favourite and she was voted the people's choice!

Indie commented: ‘I’m so happy! Thank you so much for the feedback I received, and the opportunity overall. It was such an exciting experience, thank you!’
